Special Projects and Themes, Community Outreach
Our Special Contributing Editor will coordinate editorial outreach throughout local communities, including those underserved by poetry.
She will also
-- serve as a liaison to other national and overseas literary communities,
-- solicit themed contributions, literary criticism, and topical essays.
Areas targeted for special contributions:
-- francophone, immigrant, and diasporic literatures
-- cross fertilization of poetry with other arts and disciplines
-- financial, medical, architectural, legal metaphors
-- poetry as a vehicle to create and sustain social activism
-- poetry's relationship to international politics
-- disability, sexuality, and other forms of writing at the margins
-- superpower or superhero ethnic representations
-- jokes and humor in the conscious and unconscious
-- how to address desire and decadence in the digital age
